Equality Objectives
The Equality Act 2010 requires us to publish specific and measurable equality objectives. Our equality objectives are based on our analysis of data and other information. Our equality objectives focus on those areas where we have agreed to take action to improve equality and tackle disadvantages. We will regularly review the progress we are making to meet our equality objectives.
Equality objective 1: To increase the number of Disadvantaged children attaining at a higher level by July 2019 Progress we are making on this objective: Children identified and targeted. Performance Management targets for teachers to raise attainment for Disadvantaged children. Continued training support for all staff to ensure we are properly equipped to achieve this objective.
Equality objective 2: All groups of pupils regularly attend school in line with National expectation. Progress we are making on this objective: Pupils and parents are aware of the importance of attendance as a life skill. We remind parents about attendance and punctuality through newsletters, texts and letters. Attendance is emphasised with classes being awarded with the Attendance In KS1 and KS2 on a weekly basis. 100% certificates are awarded to pupils with 100% Attendance at the end of the year. Where attendance is below 90%, this is dealt with on an individual basis and Educational Welfare Services are advised when necessary.
Equality objective 3: To modify the school building to have wheelchair access to the office and reception area. Progress we are making on this objective: A ramp is now in place leading into KS1 where access to the office can be gained. However, a new ramp is planned for in the next three year plan for the entrance to the office.
